Team History
In the Spring of 1990 tragedy struck the community of Terrace when a child broke through pond ice. Emergency services were summoned to the site and after some time the child was recovered. Despite the heroic efforts of the rescuers the child could not be revived. A short time following the accident a group of concerned citizens held a meeting at the local Search and Rescue Headquarters to discuss the development of a specialized group that would respond to aquatic emergencies. Over the next few months an organization was formed to fill this need, the group is the “Terrace Water Rescue Team”
